Ken's Take: Tarboy

Sorry, sorry, sorry! I'm running super behind today! Hopefully this doesn't leak into other things.... brb. Okay, I'm back. So...it's Wednesday (does anyone else sound it out as wed-nes-day when they spell it?) and that means it's time for me to make my mark, in a sense. Today we'll be talking about something that's taken over the entirety of the musical aspect of my phone.

So... I've got a confession to make, I kind of, really like flash animations. There's an amazing site called Newgrounds.com that I discovered when I was a wee lad. And so now every now and then I'll go over there and take a peek. Now here's the thing about flash movies. A LOT of them suck. And I don't mean the, "well it's kind of bearable if you can see the author's perspective" I mean in the "omfg-I-want-those-five-minutes-of-my-life-back-kill-kill-KILL!!!" sort of way. Thankfully the site has a rating system and I've been able to find a few little gems there, such as Tarboy.

Now this little movie is, in my honest opinion, freaking amazing. I love it. The author is a bloody genius. The thing that really gets me is the music. You can go the the main Tarboy website here and download the original soundtrack. The music is short and sweet with several types of songs ranging from a sort of steampunk feel to a nice smooth jazz. I've done nothing but listen to it for about 16 hours now. Okay, that might be a slight exaggeration, however I have been listening to it for quite a while now. If you haven't already checked it out, I recommend doing so, and after you watch the video let me know what you thought about it in the comments section.

Now as much as I'd love to simply end the post there, I simply am unable to without first mentioning the release of a game 10 years in the making, yes, I am talking about the glorious Starcraft II. Just thinking about the trailer gives me chills. However, as super excited as I am for the game's release, and as much as I think that South Korea is going to make July 27th a National holiday, I have not yet played it.

T.T

Why? Oh Why?!?!?! Why would The Ken, the half Korean gamer not have played this wonderful game yet! The answer is as simple as it is heart breaking.

I'm broke. Well. Kind of. I just don't have the funds right now to allocate to the purchase of this game, however! This ought to change by the week's end, thus by this time next week expect me to have beaten it and to hear all about it's awesomeness. Onward! For gaming! For Korea! For Pony!
