The thing about Christmas is...... The thing about Christmas.... is.... The thing about this holiday is that it's intriguing. I am definately intrigued by how having the right, simple ingredients can mean such a large difference between a time of stress and a time of contentment. Many of my past Christmas times were quite wonderfull, with a decaying rate as I got older. What was this difference? Between the older and newer Christmas times? Imo, it was the focus. The focus was about me by others, and in turn my focus was on others thus perpetuating a wonderful cycle of kindness. When the focus begins to steer away from this fact, it leads invariably to disaster as the very foundation of the holiday is lost. And then people wonder why Christmas is so horrible. Perhaps you've lost something in your constant daily routine. I was once told that a lack of finances often is the best motivator for ingenuity. I wholeheartedly agree. Due to said lack of finances that Heidi and I are in, we set a $10 spending limit on our gifts for each other. My gift? A scrapbook, so that we can record our adventures together for the coming year. Had I not had the spending limit, undoubtedly my gift would have been of lesser value, not monetarily, but in its meaningfulness. I have spent this Christmas Eve with my Father-in-law, sister-in-law, and sister-in-law's friend. We went shopping, we went to get food, and just generally enjoyed each other's company. It was great since there were no expectations, we all were just happy to be together. Anyways, I do hope I get a chance to see/spend time with my little sister, but we'll see. Here's to you Jesus, thank you for coming and bring us the light.
